superficial. a word most often used by one of my friends. but what is superficial. it is to lie for the good of no one but yourself. it is to hide behind a painting that you created of yourself to make others feel small. yes, its bad. and yes, it happens. but no, we should not ignore it. no, we should hate the people who do it. for if we did, they would lie even more to gain your liking. that would defeat the purpose of hating them in the first place. we should try and show those who suffer from this addiction that to be yourself doesnt always go wrong. to show enthusiasm when you want to deep down is not a sin. people wont like you any less for it. in fact, they would probably either follow your example or watch from the sidelines in admiration for the courage you showed in expressing yourself. but then, if the whole world spoke their feelings, it would be our downfall, to put it in simple terms. a white lie here and there could put a smile on peoples faces. sometimes, the truth hurts more than the lies. i think that is my error. being straight forward is not wrong, but it has its limits just like anything else. and that is what i emphasise in this post.
